Experience the uniquely engaging and moving Byzantine Lenten service of the Canon of St. Andre of Crete.
Biblical passages are chanted in hauntingly beautiful melodies as we immerse ourselves body and soul into the "bright sadness" of repentance through the gesture of full body prostrations. This service is of timeless duration but we invite you to experience any part of it throughout the night. Priests will be available for Confession throughout the service.

A Real Health Care Plan

Every Sunday at 11:30AM beginning August 30, 2009 Annunciation parish will be offering a comprehensive health care plan and practical tips on how to stay healthier and slash your personal health care costs. This program will be based on the Sacramental-Liturgical worldview of our body-persons and will invite us all to reconfigure how we live our lives and how we approach the entire subject of health care. This program will promote a shift from an overdependence on the pharmaceutical approach and the after-the-fact approach to health care in favor of a concentration on the preventive side of health care. The program will provide expert advice, food samples, sources, references, personal testimonies and above all the spirituality that is the source for true and effective health care. The most essential part of this program will be an ongoing prayer campaign for those who struggle with health and health care costs. This program is guaranteed to be insightful, provocative and effective. All are welcome.

You can also join in the prayer vigil against the Planned Parenthood facility on LaGrange Rd (Rt. 45) just a few blocks south of 143Rd St. in Orland Park, IL. The Planned Parenthood facility is on the west side of the street near the Orland Chateau banquet hall. The prayer vigil takes place on the first Saturday of every month from 10:00AM-Noon.
